CFIDS – Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome

Chronic Fatigue is known by a number of different names.  It is also known as Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome, (C.F.I.D.S.).

It is an illness that for example in the U.S. affects approximately a million people and is more prevalent in females rather than men.  It is characterised by persistent fatigue that has been on going for more than three months.

CFIDS Symptoms

  • Persistent or intermittent fatigue
  • Allergies to Foods, Chemicals, Dust, Pollen
  • Faintness
  • Muscle and Joint Aches
  • Headaches
  • Dizzy spells
  • Depression
  • Sleep Issues
  • Tender lymph nodes (eg in the armpits/groin)
  • Concentration Problems
  • Poor Memory
  • Rapid/Irregular heart beat
  • Poor circulation (cold hands / feet)

CFIDS Sources

I read about a woman in the States that has CFIDS  I was intrigued by her story.  She had been ill with CFIDS for the last five years.  I was more intrigued though to know what her heavy metals readings were assuming she’d had a test.  I only say this because of the fact that unfortunately her two young sons were also ill with CFIDS and yet, as I have mentioned on this site, statistically very few diseases are genetically passed on. This is because we get sick as a result of our bodies inability to cope with our toxic environment.

This is not to say people didn’t get sick before the advent of mass industrialisation or for example the growth of the chemicals industry but when a family gets sick and the odds are against it being due to genes, it makes me wonder about the environment (home or otherwise). Was there an underlying source of toxicity or a trigger event?

Lead water pipes, or old copper pipes, proximity to fields and crop spraying, radon, family holiday and inoculations?

An interesting aside on the point about vaccinations and their efficacy, is that they have come into existence at a time when global rates of disease were trending downwards / declining over the last 200 years due to natural causes, sanitation etc. That is not to say vaccinations don’t work but just to point out that the success of immunisation programs may be overstated and that we have to question why the U.S. Centers for Disease Control was caught “fudging” the data on a link between autism and mercury thimerosal (preservative) in vaccinations.

CFIDS

Also it is interesting that French Soldiers in the first Gulf War (1990-1991) generally did not go down with “Gulf War Illness.” A name given to CFIDS type symptoms that high percentages of soldiers unfortunately experienced and still do to this day. The reason cited is because they were not given vaccinations to protect them against a range of infectious diseases and man made chemical/biological compounds.

Other countries like the U.S. and U.K. forces were vaccinated. To see the different illness rates of different countries forces who came down with CFIDS and a threefold increase in Multiple Chemical Sensitivities: Click Here

It is easier than you may think to become exposed to unlikely toxins like heavy metals such as cadmium, lead or arsenic, or to chemicals. Long term low level exposure creates little initial symptomatology. I hear it from the emails I receive from all around the world.

Unfortunately people fail to recognise environmental factors as a cause behind illnesses like CFIDS. Their initial response is to suspect a virus, mold or candida yeast as the culprit.  Viruses, mold and yeast infections are a symptom of poor immune functioning that can be brought about from long term chemical and/or heavy metals exposure.

Once you accept that there is a possibility that heavy metals maybe at the heart of your health concerns tests will need to be carried out.  However as I found out after losing nine years with incorrect heavy metals blood test results, testing for heavy metals can be like looking for a needle in the proverbial haystack.  Heavy metals typically become sequestered in the bodies fat cells and are not generally freely available to be picked up in the blood, hair or urine unless specific steps are taken.

The simplest method to detect the presence of heavy metals is to go on a strict low carbohydrate, high fats, high protein diet for at least 8-12 weeks.  This will burn fat and release heavy metals toxins stored in the bodies fat cells. Bear in mind even then that the hair test can only detect what the body is excreting and this can mean some heavy metals may show up, others may still be present in the body but are not being excreted.
